Sebbene determinate vicende della cosiddetta Seconda guerra di Mafia svoltasi, tra il 1981-83, sono state giustamente accelerate per questioni di ritmi del film, Bellocchio ha saputo dirigere discretamente un film non affatto semplice e soprattutto con un personaggio come protagonista assolutamente non facile da gestire. Favino è sicuramente il punto di forza di tutta la pellicola, con una recitazione veramente intensa dall'inizio alla fine. Talmente si è calato bene nei panni di Buscetta che a volte sembra di vedere e soprattutto sentire proprio il vero Don Masino. Il Maxi Processo del 1986, girato tra l'altro nell'aula bunker di Palermo, la stessa dove si svolse il vero processo storico è sicuramente il punto che intrattiene di più lo spettatore. Il confronto tra Calò e Buscetta è veramente fedele a quello che ci fu davvero, ma aver riproposto con altrettanto realismo anche altri attimi salienti con gli altri imputati è stato davvero di classe. Forse il film cala proprio nell'atto dopo il Maxi-Processo e in seguito alle Stragi del 1992, quando andando verso la conclusione ormai lo stesso Buscetta diventa per l'appunto sempre più invisibile e senza più nulla di particolarmente interessante da svelare. Il mio voto è un : 7.

The last film of Marco Bellocchio is the portrayal of Tommaso Buscetta, a former member of Italian mafia who brake ' omerta' and became an informant. Moreover, through Buscetta's life we can see the Italian mafia history during 60's-80's.
As I was a bit dissapointed from Bellocchio's latest works I didn't expect to see a great movie, but in the end I was amazed both from the direction and the plot line. Some scenes of the movie are a real masterpiece and although it lasts 2,5 hours you don't get tired or bored.
Outstanding acting by Pierfrancesco Favino, he's perfect on his role.
